Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is this blog about? Why did you leave America? Why did you go to the Philippines?
Please check the Introduction, and read the blog posts.
Are you still in the Philippines? When do you plan on coming back?
No, I had to leave the Philippines two years after I arrived. But the journey is not over; the search for the golden coconut continues, even while I am here in the US. After getting my degree and some savings, I will definitely pursue my dream of returning to the Philippines, traveling, and giving back to the country.
Why the name Coconuter?
Coconuter, because in a sense, what I did was a little crazy or “coconuts” (from the phrase “Gone Coconuts”). Furthermore, embodied in the sought after “golden coconut” I refer to throughout the blog are the meaning, purpose, and answers I am looking for. Hence, I chose the name Coconuter, since I am in search of this “golden coconut.”
Is it true you now have a partner and baby?
Yes. See here>>
The pictures are great. Do you have a production team with you?
Thanks. No, I don't have a production team with me.
So, who takes the pictures?
For the most part, my partner and I do. Sometimes I time the shots. My partner and I collaborate and share ideas on most of the shots.
Do you have a laptop?
No, unfortunately I don't. I commute to internet cafes and rent a computer every time I have to get on the internet. This would be more productive though and would enable me to post more often. Ideally, a laptop with a wireless internet connection would be the preferred device as it allows for maximum mobility. As always, I am open to sponsors and donations to help acquire necessary equipment.
Do you have plans of visiting Visayas and Mindanao?
I hope to also explore these regions some time in the future.
Are you, your partner, or baby willing to be on a commercial or shoot?
I would most definitely be open to the possibility. It would be a great opportunity to learn and earn more funding to keep this adventure of ours going strong! :-)
Would you be willing to work on a project/venture?
If you have an exciting and well funded project, please feel free to send me the details.
Can I visit you? Next time you are in Manila, can we meet up?
I do enjoy visitors, and am always eager and open to visiting. As time is so limited the best way is to arrange a specific time with me. Shoot me an email about your ideas. And I hope you don't mind if my family tags along on the fun too.
Are you, your partner, or your baby willing to enter modeling or showbiz?
Day shoots and temporary or one-time projects are most definitely a possibility.
Can I tag along in one of your adventures? Or can you feature my hometown?
That's always a great idea! I would love to discuss the details and put together a working budget to make this happen!

hope you read this. Keep it up bro! sana mahanap mo ang iyong sariling kahulugan ng buhay. Life is very difficult but as long as you have friends and family it will be worth all the pain and suffering. masarap mabuhay when you find your own reasons to live like I did. Lahat tayo may sariling kahulugan. We make our own meaning, by our own means. Remember it's not bad to compromise and also be contented with who and what you have in life. I know this is a cliche but all we need is love. God+Bless!!!
Hey,
I was just surfing and came across your interview at channel 2. I just felt the pain when I saw you cry. Even if you didn't say it then, I felt that staying here in the Phils was all about your 'partner' and child. It was not an easy situation you found yourself in but I'm glad you made a choice of going back there now. Not for anything, it was just devoid of logic to live a simple life in favor of being with your loved ones. I'm sure you can give your child a good future. Just trust that all of this has a purpose.
Much luck! -Marlon
