This Coconut Farm Boy sketch takes me back to my childhood days, growing up in a little town in Mindanao, comfortably sitting and watching workers/employees working for my Dad in our coconut farm during harvest season until I was twelve years old. That was the perfect moment when I can vividly remember dreaming, and my mind wondering what life's meaning was all about and if indeed there was one. My Dad was a coconut farmer/businessman.
Wonderful and happy memories I will forever cherish. How I long to go back in time and experience that peace and stability nowhere to be found in America. I love my adopted country-the USA but it grieves my heart to watch people chasing the Great American Dream without deeper purpose and meaning. As you said, wealth is not everything in this world. In fact, if may add, wealth not shared is the epitome of human selfishness and at most, meaningless! Love of riches/money can be deadly dangerous!
