Philippines' Land Connection with Asia

The Philippines must have been connected by land with Borneo and Formosa. And these, in turn, must have been connected, especially Borneo, with the mainland of Asia.

In a study made by curators, a proof of our connection with Borneo can easily be deduced. In his paper describing a special kind of Philippine shells, he said, "There are several groups which show a north-ward migration from Borneo to the Philippines. One group has andoubtedly come from some Bornean stock, and now is distributed over Balabac and adjacent island,"

The first inhabitants of the Philippines, according to D.r H. Q. Beyer, must have migrated by land, like the land shells.
