This clinic is an embarassment to St.Luke's Medical center as a company. The service is 4th rate and the people don't know anything about customer service. The employees at this faciltiy certainly will give gov't employees a run for their money in incompetence and ineptness. In resptrospect, some gov't agencies actually are better than the employees of this facility.
When somebody said the service sucks, it really does and I think certainly that is an understatement because it is worse than that...way above.
When you have children that needs the medical, esp toddlers, oh boy be prepared to have the ordeal of your life! This clinic (what a word to describe this place...it just doesn't deserved to be called a clinic) doesn't have any facility to cater to your children. No playground or anything....it shouldn't be that bad if the waiting don't take an eternity. Bored children or wailing tykes are treated like adults...employees scolds tykes throwing tantrums, could you believe that!
Why should we, paying customers be put on such an ordeal? We pay them good money so we should at least be given a good treatment, right? wrong my friends. This Clinic treats its customers like we owe them a favor and that we should be thankful for the service we get from them! Such a travesty because the service we get is a reflection of a third world country not the excellent one being trumpeted by the main hospital.
If only the US embassy will give accreditation to another facility then I think people having a medical to get a visa would not be exposed to such an ordeal.

paano ba makakakuha g immunization record nawala yung kopya ko?

    Anonymous said...

Haaaay... This clinic does not really take in mind that what ever the decision they made would affect peoples future... They just require sputum test for those they just think have something in the X-ray result(My Prev exray, taken 3 yrs ago and the most recent X-ray taken after my medical in St. Luke is the same), pero they still require me for the sputum exam, which will take 2 months to get the result. At the end the result is negative... sad thing is, the upportunity to work on a project abroad was gone... Same thing happened to my friend, mas malala pa kasi ni require cya mag 2nd x-ray, pero di naman na honor yung last x-ray result. They just don't care... they just do business and focus on income i guess.

The U.S. ambassador should look for a better facility where employees treat clients/patients with respect or all employees should undergo ridgid human relations training. This is a cash cow for SLMC and the least they could do is have happy clients/patients and not like insulting the intelligence of their PAYING customers.

    Anonymous said...

Re: immunization records & vaccinations- securing immunization record is an ordeal, specially if your baby book is not to be found; go to your pediatrician, usually they have your immunization record and have her/him certify that you had been immunized against specific diseases. The clinic will accept this.
As for vaccinations, if any is needed, these are given free by the clinic
as for clinic's personnel attitude - just give them a smile and say thank you; better yet say God Bless.

oh boy, yup i do agree. st Luke's is such an embarrassment to the U.S. Embassy. My Mom and Dad were scheduled at the same date for an interview with the US Embassy, so i sent them to St. Luke's to have their medical exam. My Mom's went good and apparently, my Dad's x-ray came up "Malignant" as claimed. My poor little sister was crying telling me that Dad got something in his lungs. I was working in MedSurg Unit at that time. i told her to demand a biopsy... I am a Nurse here at California , and i already know where the story is leading...Either they want bribe, get extra money or just plain IGNORANT...My poor Dad went back and forth To this fuckin clinic, and I told him not to take any medicine or anything that they reccomend him to do. I told him that i will sue them if they're wrong..
Funny how it seems that after couple of hours, one nurse came up tp my Dad and offered him to do repeat x-ray with a different technician, asking for another 1,000 pesos.. Guess what? fuck, he came out negative,,,,, Hell break loose, now i'm pissed.
My Dad got diabetes, and as far as i know he is up-to-date with his medical examinations and all his lab works are normal. I know coz i keep track of it.Then after all these, he was scheduled for Psych Eval. My Dad went to UE for college, worked for Pepsi-Cola company for 17 years, now u tell me he's crazy? they asked for additional money to do that test too.
then came where they asked for NBI clearance. St Luke's is only for Medical Examinations, why are they looking for NBI clearance? I called the National Visa Center here in States, called the US Embassy in Manila, but Iwasnt able to call the Clinic itself coz they wont pick up.
Finally my Dad was released after asking him for alot of money. I am the petitioner, and boy if i'm there in the Philippines I will sue them big time. My poor Dad came from along way, and these damn people are playing their games.

st. luke's sucks!!!! monopoly at its finest indeed. these id!ots shine a light on what crab mentality truly is. you get the impression that they don't care if you have to get rescheduled because you're leaving and they're stuck in their sh!tty lives! i agree with other posters that they have no consideration from people from out of town, let alone those who had to use up their 2-week vacation to fly from the US just to deal with their bullsh!t!!! i think they get a kick out of rescheduling people. i had to go through the ordeal that is st. luke's in the summer and now my sister is going through the same hell! WTF?!?!? and for those with kids, make sure you have someone with you who can run out and get food for your kids because these a$$h0les will keep you in there until midnight if they can...regardless if your children are starving. can these people be investigated? someone is obviously making lots of money here, what with P9,000+ for kids and P15,000+ for adults...and there's hundreds every single day. can we please break this monopoly!!!! St. Luke's is an embarassment!

December flights pre-booking takes longer leadtime.

if those comments, suggestions, requests, and needs of st lukes clients were not given a remedy/ or at least simple solution the st lukes board of directors should act on these together with the US embassy officials. If not, i would say na bad influence ang mga nagtratrabajo sa clinic na iyan...na influenciahan nila ang mga americans para bumaba ang standard of service nila...tolitz

Nowadays, the only thing we can offer to our fellowmen for free is our service, sincere service. GOD is watching and He knows every sinful act of cheating to other people, for personal gain. Have the courage to break the trend. We all die, and there are only 2 things that will go with us OUR BAD DEEDS AND GOOD DEEDS. God will never ever credit our accomplishments, wealth and popularity...knowing that we were able to gain it out dishonesty and selfishness!!! so please to St.Lukes in general..have the nerve to change. We are all working to survive...so please spare a little consideration to those people needing your assistance...let's have a win-win situation. Thank You

Yes this clinic is a Bullshit! Until this date December 31, 2009 they are still the same shit as they were before. My Brother is scheduled for visa interview last november 2009, since it is required to take medical exam, He went to this clinic and boy it was a pain in d a...!!! Based on his Xray the doctor said he was in suspicion of habing TB because the xray result shown some blurdness on the upper part of his lungs, so he was instructed to take sputum test. He took test painstakingly since you have to be there early for 3 consecutive days. We are happy initially because all the 3 test went good, but inspite of that My Brother was instructed to take culture test that will take 2 months before the result will be released. The heck after more than a month they called us and told us that the result is now available. We hurried there on the date of our appointment. We were shocked because the person giving us the result told us without any humane consideration of what we are going to feel, told my brother "MAY TB KA" "NAKAKAHAWA KA!" Now they are telling us that he has to undergo medication for 6 months, and he has to take the medicine in front of them everyday. We told them that it will be very difficult and there could be other options because we are living outside metromanila. But we are told that they are the only accredited clinic in the philippines and perhaps we should transfer our residence in manila... Grrrr.... I was about to explode! GRABE!!!! Right until now we are still thinking what is the best thing we can do, because we reluctant to take any medication because my brother seems healthy and no symptoms at all. And they really dont care whether you will take long time to settle your requirements and the effect to your future, your feelings, your needs, and also the cost you will be spending. "Di yata mga Filipino mga tao dyan e, sa halip na makatulong sila, which in the first binabayaran naman sila, instead pahirap pa sila, and they dont really care na mahirapan ka at mamroblema, gusto lang kumita". Di malaman kung paano sila na qualify, and bakit walang ibang clinic na pwede mag administer ng medical exam, sila lang ba ang may kakayahan at marurunong tumingin? I hope this would get the attention of proper authority, specially our government to make an investigation. CURSE YOU BAD PEOPLE!

Who are the Board of Directors of Saint Luke's? What are their credentials? And how come NO ONE IS DOING SOMETHING HERE??? Someday, this clinic will be exposed internationally without them knowing it...it's an embarassment--REALLY!

Why can't the US embassy open a clinic in Cebu for Visayas and Mindanao clienteles? Going to Manila is so expensive and staffs of the clinic are HEARTLESS and RUTHLESS. Some doctors are fine --some are so "insecure." Oh yes, a few of them...Sputum culture really messed up our schedule. Two months! And came out negative and the medical exams is only good for 6 months!? No what? Another payment--preposterous!!!

im a visa applicant too and just finished the 3 consecutive days for the sputum collection and on the 4th day, they asked me to return for the so called - pulmonary evaluation and it found out that the smear is negative for now so we have to wait for 2 months for the cultural result. though some have told that if you received a call from them less than a month or so, meaning you have positive result that means to say you need undergo medical examination for 6 months at st.lukes only everday you ahve to go there and get your medicines. so wishing that it would turned out negative...any one here who have received calls from st.lukes earlier than 2 months?

I was wondering why you said in your site that if we had an X-RAY film prior to our medical exam in your clinic you will accept for comparison, now I had a X-ray film that I brought along with me during my medical but I was surprise because you did not effort to read my film, are you trying to fool us? or you just need more money for this? because I was diagnosed and asked for a sputum test which I did....and I was negative for the three days stupid sputum test result. So this is very clear that you want to delay our interview and fly to US to be with my husband...we have planned this interview long time ago, but you only delayed us for the sputum test? How stupid it is?
My husband said to me that even a person who had TB can enter the US. because it is curable... Please do not fool us with your delaying tactics Please....

Today is March 11, 2010. My mom has been going back and forth in this damn clinic. They took her x ray last week and said it was blurry (which can be a result of little movements she might had made when it was taken.) They had her come back for the next 4 days this week for a freaking sputum test! Which by the way turned negative...and so because its negative (how ironic!) they told her they will culture it for the next 2 months!!! What the f**k?! Why can't they freaking redo the xray? My mom is not sick nor she has any TB (the thing they're testing for.) How do we know? Because she goes to her regular doctor and she went to a lung specialist at San Juan de Dios hospital and they have not found anything at all!!! Also, I have a young brother (7 yrs old) who lives with her who doesn't have a good immune system, which means if my mom had it he would have it as well...but guess what, nope he doesn't have TB nor any lung disease. Nobody smokes in my family over there so they're not exposed to that. I kept telling my mom to just pay the f**king "RED TAPE" to those illiterate technicians and have a second go for the xray instead of wasting time. This is so annoying!!! I hired a lawyer for my mom's paperwork and I'm thinking of having the lawyer call them up. Does anybody know if this is a better route to go or just to look for somebody there to pay the RED TAPE and get a second xray?

    barbie said...

Calling a lawyer is a waste of time! They can't help you with this matter. All you got do is pray that your mom's culture will get negative results. They won't let you pay and do another x-ray because they are morons and they want more than what x-ray cost. I am one of the applicants who did the same shit like your mom, they said I have which is I believe it's "BULLSHIT". And I had to undergo treatment for 6months (still not done). Not only that! I don't mind getting treatment but living in Manila for six months just to get the fucking pills at St. Luke's every fucking day is really a waste of time, money and energy. You have to deal with the bitchy nurses specially to the shortest hair one at DOT. She acts like she owns the clinic and she thinks we are asking her a favor to give us the medicine. (for your information girl, you need us and we don't need you! We're paying you to do your job as a nurse not to be so bitchy to all DOT patients)My, God, she's so rude! She doesn't respect older people. Anyway, I took another xray from different hospital and sent it to the US, 3 different radiologist looked at it there and guess what, it was clear! Normal Chest X-ray! It makes me sad, because they're worse than corrupt politicians. They're just got lucky that US embassy chosen them. But I do believe in KARMA.

My mom have the same experienced with them too. My mom had her medical exam mid January 2010. Everything is ok until the x-ray result came out and they said there was a teeny weeny spot so they have to have her check for sputum test. They said they're are going to culture it for 2 months. That time I was really MAD because I don't think those people who work there knows what they're doing. Of course we can't do anything about it so we just have to wait for 2 months. My mom called them on March 19 and guess what those f**king idiot said that they don't have the result yet and have to call again on March 29. I'm sooo angry right now, they're lucky that it is Saturday there today otherwise I am screaming and cursing at them on the phone, but I'll call on Monday. This is RIDICULOUS and what they're doing to those people especially the older ones are heartless. I don't usually say bad things to others but in this case this is an exemption because they don't deserve any respect at all, ma-KARMA sana silang lahat. I hope that the US Consulate there in the Philippines will find a better clinic to serve our kababayan who wants to be with their family abroad. My husband and I are planning to write a letter to our congressman here in Illinois to complain about the practices that SLMCEC is doing.

hello my name is juliefer i had my medical exam at st. lukes clinic on Oct. 06, 2009 as it is required for a K1 visa. They gave me the vaccination supplement and the x-ray but NOT the entire result of my medical exam and said that they will forward it to manila US embassy. So im Here in the US and processing to adjust my status for a permanent residence. My problem is they are asking me to submit a properly completed and signed copy of the medical exam conducted overseas on Form DS-2053. So i was wondering, Is there any way that i can get a copy of my medical exam?? if so then please send me an email at Jjuliefer_17@yahoo.com. and let me know how i can get it. Hoping to hear back from you guys. thanks

I found this site before I went to SLEC for my medical exam. I was a little upset with lots of negative comments posted here about the staff of SLEC. And because of the negative comments, I was a little hesitant to go on with my medical. Specially so, that 99% of the comments here are all negative. But, I must tell you this... everything that is written here might be true to some but not on others. Because, I myself experienced a very nice, accomodating and systematic environment at the SLEC. When you greet and smile at every staff you meet there, they smile back and gladly assists everyone.

I'm an American guy who is trying to complete the K-1 process for my future Philippina wife. We are having the same problem as many here have reported. In Feb of 2010 she went for her x-ray. It should be noted that my finace'e had just had a normal x-ray a month before St. Luke's did their's. And it was 100% normal. St. Luke's reported that she and 18 others had positive x-rays and would have to under go the sputum testing. Which they report takes 2 months. Strange thing to note is on the 4th day of the process St. Luke's own Pulmonary Dr. looked at my fiance'es x-rays and told her the x-ray was normal! But could not explain why my fiance'e would have to continue with the sputum test. After she returned to her home town she had another x-ray and it was completely normal also.
I'm sure St. Luke's is making addtional money each time they do these unecessary tests. But it's unethical and shamefull. What St. Luke's clinic is doing is wrong, unnecessary, and unjustified. There needs to be an investigation into this clinic and the US government needs to find another provider. I have contacted The US State Dept. and the Bureau of Consular affairs and will be demanding an investigation. This needs to stop now! Anyone else who has had these problems please email me at davidj3000@comcast.net
We all need to continue to complain and help put a stop to this.

    Good morning,

    Thank you anD more power....

Visa applicants paid P 10,000.00 for that medical exam. On the second day, the guard on duty at the ground floor will informed you that " FOR SPUTUM TEST KA " as per computer feedback. Next instruction "GO TO WINDOW L". And then staff at window L will tell you "WAIT FOR YOUR SKED sa sputum test".

As ONE of the patients who paid ST Lukes: IS IT BUT PROPER THAT DOCTORS MUST PERSONALLY INFORMED THE PATIENTS ABOUT THE CHEST FINDINGS? Sooooo...
absurd, unprofessional and unethical the way St. Lukes treat the suspected TB patients... eh paid na kaya wala na kayong pakialam...PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE!
Its no joke to pay 10k and then no explanation whatsoever as to why there is a need FOR 3 consecutive days of SPUTUM TEST.

Money is the main objective. Why do you think they have guards at the front door who wont let foreign spouses in. Because they know the protected vermin inside are ripping them off though the vehicle of their filipino spouses who might not be quite up to date on their rights. They are also hanging out for the right kind of bribe to give your assessment the all clear. I just do no know how much that bribe might be because if I did I just might grit my teeth and pay it. They also know that a non diagnosed case whereas the lung may just have an infection can be passed so long as the applicant agrees to sign an undertaking to be tested and have treatment if necessary in the country to which they are going as TB is curable and treatable often ten times cheaper that if they were to do it. so the main objection here is dollars or pesos. they are all in on it. a sputum test in saint lukes 6000 pesos in america its only $17 go figure

SOBRANG NAKAKA ASAR! daming hassle dahil sa St. Lukes tapos sasabihin nila i only have 2 months at mag expire na medical ko kaya kailangan ko maka alis before that two months.

I will contact the US STATE DEPARTMENT and send a written letter of incompetence about this place so they could start looking for another facility to do the physical and medical exam to filipinos going to the US.They are collecting more money by conducting unnecessay tests. I had my medical exam in this place 8 years ago and the same bullshit they did to me and to my mom. They better brace themselves because I will organize an action to shut down this place for good. to davisj3000@comcast.net I will keep in touch with you and to all other people who are now in the US who were victims of SLMEC scam please join us in sending a petition to the appropriate authorities here in the US to shut down this place.

    Anonymous said...

It is indeed frustrating. St. Luke wont tell you nothing. After my family was done with their medical test, they just give them a call center number to re schudele for their interview. The numbers you cant even talk to nobody and dont know anything. On the website of the manila U.S. embassy, St. Luke was to schedule your appointment within the next two working days. SLMCEC according to the websit will give you an appointment slip that you should bring to the embassy together with your original appointment letter. They didnt do that. They just told my family to call this number. They are very friendly and helpful but their hands are wide open to take your money. SLMCEC your service sucks!!!

    Anonymous said...

To those who are defending St Luke's...you are lucky that you didn't have to go through the hell some people have to go through! I do agree with them that with the amount of money they are asking the least they could do is provide good customer service and that includes catering to the children as well! At hindi naman park ang hinahanap, konting pang entertain lang habang nag-iintay, is that too hard to ask? Nde nila na-rerealize how much hassle ang nagagawa nila sa mga applicants, not to mention yun money involved! Let's face it they are too damn incompetent!
At oo nga pala, why are they too concern about your drug history from 20 years ago? Pag-amin ng drug use is a lifetime ban!!! Ok lang sana kung drug addict talaga e, kaso they don't make that distinction and they don't care kasi nga hindi naman buhay nila masisira! I can only say one thing...KARMA sa mga doctor at staff who intentionally makes trouble for visa applicants!

    Hello Po,
Makkuha ninyo ang Xray films i remember(old procedures nila kasi noon) once wala nman sakit sila makita ibbigay yun agad ng St lukes after 3 days po, sila sa st lukes mag rerelease ng Xray film, may form po yun kung bbalik o hindi sa st lukes. Yun naman sa immunization, may form din yun from US dept of health, noon po kasi, nakuha ko po yun sa akin sa Port of Entry ko sa Detroit, USA. Upon sa port of entry bbuksan po yun Medical resulta na dala-dala ninyo together with the Xray and docs. Dun po makkita kung may REMARKS nilagay ang St lukes or Kung may necessary medical treatnt pa need sa US Dept of Health. That procedures po way back 2005. I think i had 15 vaccinations required, the more vaccinations u had, its advantageous. Goodluck nlang po sa mga paalis....

mm. napaka greedy ng clinic na'to.
iniisip na lang nila mga sarili nila. di man lang nila naisip yung magagasatos ng mga immigrants para lang magpa medical na 8 thousand to 9 thousand + per person. e binibigyan naman nila ng sakit yung mga tao kahit wala naman para lang mka earn ng mas marameng pera?! napaka bagal pa ng service! kame instead na nainterview nkme last november at instead na nkaalis na kame last month, sinira ng SLMCEC lahat! wala. uulit nanaman kame ng medical. babalik nanaman kame sa lugar na pinapakita what hell really looks like! tsk. bibigyan nila ng tb ang mga tao khit na wala naman tlga, then mg a-undergo ng sputum, tapos. uulit nanaman dahil nahihirapang mgpa re-sched ng interview. ohh. my God!

Good day...i also experienced a bad thing on this clinic, i just had my medical exam last february 2011 and they told me to come back for 3 consecutive days for sputum exam, and then they just gave me a piece of paper that had a number and a person to talk to after 2 months to find the result of my sputum..now, after 2 months and i called them for almost an hour no one is answering my call, so since i just live near on that clinic i decided to go personally and the guy named clark just told me that they still don't have my result and i was told to call them..I got nothing to do but to head back home and i tried to call them again, the guy clark asked me to talk the laboratory personel and so i was did...the woman that i talked to told me that, i need to call them for another 2 days coz as she said my 3rd sputum was positive in tb and they need a 2nd opinion! how was that? they don't even give a fucking care if it mess your interview date..i already re-schedule my interview appointment for the 3rd time bcoz of this matter! and how come it took 2 months for them to find out that my 3rd sputum is positive in TB?!! how come they don't call me earlier than 2 months if they think i am a tb positive? tingin ko gusto lang nilang kumita ng extra money kaya pinatatagal nila yung patient, tpos ung ibang empleyado parang bastos...unang araw ko jan yung guard n pang-umaga tinanong kung bakit iba yung requirements ko, nung sinagot aba ag savi b nmn sa akin..heto lang kailangan ko hindi mo na kailangan ng marami pang satsat...amft!!! hoy st.luke's!! hndi kayo kikita kung hindi dahil sa amin kaya tratuhin nyo ng tama mga tao na pumapasok sa klinika nyo, hindi kami ang dapat na lumalabas na parang nagmamakaawa sa serbisyo nyo...

    Anonymous said...

    Anonymous said...

Good day to everyone...i called the st.luke's laboratory again to find out my result because as i called yesterday i talked to one of their laboratory staff who easily judge my sputum exam and was told that my last sputum was positive in TB and i might undergo treatment...So, now i called the lab again and luckily someone that i talked to is nicer than yesterday and i asked her about what i found yesterday...and she patiently explained to me everything that they still don't have the result of my last sputum, they still can't say if it's positive or not and she was sorry that "maybe" the other one that i talked yesterday made a mistake...or maybe the one that i talked yesterday was trying to make a bribe? thank's to the personel who i talked this morning, your nice keep that attitude ^_^

like everyone else, i also had undergone the dreaded sputum and culture test. it was last september 15,16,17 2010...they told me to call them nov 12 to know the result, but a week before nov 12 i received a call from them informing me to go there coz results were ready. nagtanung ako kung ano yung result, ayaw nila ireveal ang sabi lang pumunta ako. hindi ako nagpunta nung date na sinabi nila kasi i hinted na something's wrong kasi nung ako ang tumawag sa kanila, yung nakausap ko sinabi "mam are for DOTS treatment? wala ako idea kung ano yun, kaya nag ask ako further kung bakit kelangan ko ba yun bakit ano ba resulta...wala, sabi lang nya di pa nyu po ba alam for treatment kayo...
until now, May 2011 hindi na ako bumalik...my fiance called them asking kung ano talaga, ang sabi tb positive daw ung 3rd sputum ko...kelangan magtreatment daw dun minimum 6 months, apprehensive ako kasi im working, at saka natatakot ako di naman ako inuubu bat ako magka tb tatakot ako sa iinuming gamot kasi mahina ung kidney ko eh sabi very strong daw yung gamot sa tb...
im planning to take actions now pero ang tanung ko di kaya nila ako sasabunin pag pumunta ako dun ngayun kasi 6 months na mula result ng sputum dipa ako nagpunta...lam nyu naman rude yung mga tao dun...hay naku ewan....
mag eexpire na yung petition next month nababaliw na yung fiance ko...gusto magquit ako ng work, hello im working in the government, stable ako bakit iririsk ko yun para sa medical eh di pa naman seguradu after nun magkaka visa ako? panu if after the treatment mgmedical ulit tapos papalpak na naman o kaya mdedeny panu na kinabukasan ko.im turnign 30 this year eh alam nyo naman m hirap na makahanap ng trabaho...m.y age descrimination sa atin ....gulong-gulo isip ko bakit kasi di nila ino-honor yung treatment outside st. lukes bakit di pwede dito ako sa cebu nalang magpagamot...it takes another one year and a half daw ako maresched ng medical if sa labas ng st lukes magpapagamot...di ba unfair naman yun...bakit anu tingin nila sa clinic dito hindi kaya yung kakayahan nila???ugghhhhhh US Embassy kelangan nyo mag appoint ng clinic for the visayas and mindanao parad i hassle para sa min punta pa ng maynila grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I agree na isang malaking bullshit ang St. Lukes extension clinic, they said, yung 1 doctor, clear ang tingin nya sa x-ray ko and the 2nd doctor, may spot daw ako kaya kailangan namin intayin ang 3rd doctor na titingin(ilang doctor ba ang kailangan tumingin ng x-ray result?)sa dami ng x-ray na dinanas ko sa buhay ko,ngayon lang ako nakarinig na kailangan 3 doctors ang titingin ng result, the final result is,kailangan ko mag sputum test for 3 times and everytime i went there had fee for the test, plus I need to pay 4,200 pesos for BACTEC they said.and to tell my story short,I'M LEAVING FOR CANADA TOMORROW,I'VE GOT ALL THE PAPERS I NEED,TUMAWAG SA AKIN KANINANG UMAGA ANG PESTENG ST.LUKES NA I NEED TO GO BACK TO THEM TO UNDERGO ANOTHER TEST AT PATI YUNG BAYAD SA BACTEC PARA DAW MAI-FORWARD NA NILA SA EMBASSY ANG RESULT NG MEDICAL KO???...sila ang mga mapagmahal nating mga kababayan, handa tayong tulungan para ubusin ang kaunti nating kayamanan na sa tulad ko,yon ay galing pa sa utang...UTANG NA NILA MGA GANID NA TAGA ST. as anamerican i applaude the efforts of those wh seek to protect us from communicable deseases and remind everyone that it is the same that all those who have emmergrated to the u.s. have gone through ,even worse in the 1930s. That being said i think that St.Lukes is the worst possiable place to succumb to this inquisition. Why should competant medical evaluation be so elusive. There are test that take only 1 week to diagnose tb. yet it is not availiable to the clinic??? then there is the cost, who cares as it will be borne on the shoulders of the petitioners! with so many groups out there i emplore all who go through this not to forget ur fellow countrymen and persue litigation through our legislators here in the states.

I am going thru the same thing with my family member, the sputum and culture tests and the 2 more months to wait. Im guessing it will lead to the 6 months of medications and more delay, and of course more fees next. This person also had a recent physical, and nothing showed up in the x-ray. Today is 9/1/2011 and I intend on going to the press and expose this ongoing and accepted corruptness. With all the illegals here in the U.S., us that are doing things legally shouldn't be abused like this. I have learned that a cash bribe will pass your exam, but dont know who to pay.

It is now Sept. 03, 2011 in the Philippines.
I was the one who posted this ... Has anybody got negative ... negative ... negative in the sputum evaluation and had anything show up on the culture test within 2 months and I did not get answered up to now. You may email me at edbau333@yahoo.com because I would like to be updated on what will happen if there will be changes in the culture test.
To the one who wrote last Sept. 01, any news from you right now? Right now ... this waiting is making me sick. About the cash bribe, is it true?
I wish that St. Lukes would not hold or cancel the interview date if the sputum evaluation is a negative, negative, negative. I wish that what will happen is that, all petitioners will sign in a letter that they are going to be responsible for anything if the culture test becomes positive. Even if they have to give a penalty if there will be negligence on the part of the one being petitioned during treatment time. It is not only a 6month treatment but an 8month treatment.
Those who had a problem before probably didn't bother posting anything already but this has to stop. Yep, it is found out that almost 75% of Filipinos have Tb ... too sad that our own government couldn't care less about this.

I am a petitioner here in the U. S. My wife had her interview cancelled after taking the exam. She went in to take the sputum test and had a neg, neg, neg. Now we must wait for the culture test. In the mean time I had her go to another hospital to take another xray and take the tebucular shot. I plan calling the USEmbassy and hope to talk to an american to ask for under cover agents to investigate such coruptness with st lukes clinic. I feel for everyone going through this part of the immigration process. Seems to me the whole island needs to get a tb test, seriously!

Yeah St. Lukes is fuck! What the hell are they doing with their patients!? It's just wasting of time waiting for too long and found a wrong result! Fuck you St. Lukes! You are betraying people! If you not going to change your fucking system! Will explode a bomb with that goddam hospital! I am warning you! This is not a joke!

    Anonymous said...

I have learned that oftentimes St. Lukes will not call you up on the second week of your sputum if you have TB, then on your second month, you get to get so excited because there was no call within the 2 months thinking that you are to be scheduled for the interview but no. You will be told that the culture is positive and that you have to undergo the 6 to 8 months treatment.
This really sound ridiculous. I would be happier if I start medication after evaluation and not wait for the 2 months culture only to be told that you have to take the meds.

I had my parents experience the same thing. Before we came to St. Lukes I told them to have an xray in our place in Cebu (specifically at Simbajon Medical Clinic in Tabunok and the result was negatvie) because that is what I read at their website to bring your own xray. Then what happens is that they said that they wont accept it because it didnt come from theirs. And after all the exam on the first they told me that to come back for the next day for the result "IF THEIR IS NO PROBLEM next day. I was sooooo worried because the way the lady sounds like their is a problem. THen the next day the guard told us that we have to come to the 4th floor. Then after waiting for like 4 hours they said that their is a problem with your xray and they have to undergo a sputum test for 3 days. If I didnt ask for earlier dates they will say to come back for 2 weeks. We live in Cebu and it is very hasstle to come back and forth just 3 days to take the exam + the pulmonary evaluation. I wish US Embassy will appoint another accredited clinic in Cebu so that people in Visayas region doesnt have to come to Manila. I am now very afraid because I think they only JUDGE people how they LOOK and not the real result. Please help me Lord. Thank you.

I am the petitioner from the U.S.A., tomorrow will be the 2 weeks of her culture since the sputum test and we don't expect to get called until the second month. It's funny how my wife was told to call them in the third week of October. I am planning to go see my wife, if I do, I will be camping at MY EMBASSY ... and will be speaking with AN AMERICAN to share not only my concern but also I plan to print all of your concerns in this blogs / stories and bring with me and present it to my EMBASSY!
I am taking this seriously and those of you who have issues with St. Lukes, please continue writing here.

Right, I had my medical check up at st luke's last year and i was really really disappointed of the service. the Nurses dont even greet you Hello, Good morning., and worse, they dont even smile. The are so not friendly and right, i agree with the comments here. They make me feel like I OWE THEM much when in fact, i PAID more than the total cost of the services they are providing. I don't think we deserve to be treated like that.

Fuck St.Lukes. They are the most incompetent fake ass medical people in the world. I will one day pay these motherfuckers back. They are thieves and the US government endorses this shit. I am sad that it is occurring and no one will step-up and investigate them. Again fuck them and their bullshit.

Y'all should post your complaints on the US Embassy Manila Facebook page, where they're sure to be read by people from the Embassy.

God Bless everyone!I have heard all the negative comments here and it is so sad that you all go through this. Despite of this,I still am very grateful that I made it through the end though the clinic hold me for 2 months but its all worth it. Thank You very much Lord for the chance and opportunity you gave me to met those people at St.Lukes.

btw, i also ask about the other people complains on this blog they tell me that if you undergoed sputum test, you wait for 2 months for result. that is guideline of embassy. u.s. embassy is very strict when it comes to tb so even if you have lung scar they do sputum.

if they don't call you in the 2 months, then you are maybe negative of TB. if they call before 2 months, then you maybe positive for TB.

the guy i talked to was also very nice, he answered my many questions patiently.

they also tell me to come on any day except Monday, because it is the day with the most applicants for medical exam.

just want to share some additional info i learned. good luck to us all!

bakit ganon? nagpa medical ako last year pa then na-required ako na mag sputum kasi may nakita daw sa lungs ko so i did and finished all of it at was cleared after 2mos unfortunately inabutan ako ng retrogression sa US so nag expire ang medical ko i had to wait for almost a year till my priority date got current and finally current na i have to undergo a re-medical pero when i had my x-ray clear naman ako pero ni-require pa din ako mag sputum?! na clear ang anak ko the first time at clear ulit ngayon so bakit ganon? nakaka asar lang at nakaka pagod

It is so sad that an incompetent bunch of idiots have exclusive right to make medical eveluation for immigration.
Expect to return many times . Nothing is done as you may expect. We have spent over 2000 US dollars and we do not have a medical certificate yet,

AND THERE ARE NO HEALTH PROBLEMS. Just the result of an incompetent and ill trained medical staff.

    Anonymous said...

The medical examination is nothing like what we were told to expect.
Several places it is stated that the exam MAY take more than 1 day. We started over a month ago and we are not finished. We have spent over 2000 US dollars and still no results.
Why is there only one clinic in all the Philippines ? The clinic is nearly 2000 kilometers from our home in Mindanao and we have had to go back 4 tines.
    SOMEONE IS GETTING BRIBED!

I am a petitioner here in the U.S. also. My mom was the one who took medical in St.lukes. The Xray result was something wrong. She went in to take sputum exam and had (-) (-) (-)... then waiting again for two months for the culture. to much time to wait. MY GOD how come they always do that to same PILIPINOs... Take note my mom took xray before two times before st.lukes and it was clear. bakit xray machine lang ba ng st.lukes ay sobrang hitech... how about others hospital xray machine not reliable? ONLY the st.lukes can see abnormals????

I am also the petitioner from the U.S.A., and a registered nurse. I just want to share what my mom and my nephew encountered with the SLEC employees! My mom had undergone her medical examination last Monday and she was accompanied with my nephew! I cannot just keep my mouth shut! Some of their employees are rude!! From ground floor to 5th floor! They are all bastos! One of them is the old woman sa cashier! All she cares is getting our money! She even don't know how to smile!!! Aren't you guys know what is a customer service?? Damn! Also the receptionists at the 4th floor! Next is the old woman at the 3rd floor, my nephew described her as kulot and wearing eyeglasses! She is also bastos!.. The one they call MANAGER at 2nd floor does not know how to handle complaints! And they calls herself as a MANAGER?? Even the releasing nurse sa ground floor, the one with big eyes and kalbo, I am not sure if it is EVO or IVO or NIVO!! I am also a nurse and I know how to act like a professional one! But these medical staffs didn't know how! I don't think these employees have the appropriate educational background to be in their positions! Are they all licensed? I WOULD LIKE TO CALL THE ATTENTION OF THE U.S. EMBASSY! THE EMBASSY SHOULD RECONSIDER HIRING INCOMPETENT STAFF AND MANAGEMENT IN THAT CLINIC!! so there..

hi! i just wanna share my experience and enlighten those person that are about to read stuff that may affect their confidence because i'm a victim of the stuffs posted here. i thought st. lukes is hell like what others said but i don't believe them cos actually slec treated the applicants well.
maybe they don't smile a lot and they aren't that patient but we should also understand their situation. there are many applicants right? so might as well take those into consideration. smiling is just a small thing. don't make it that big.

and i also don't believe that they keep on asking money. i didn't have any experience of that and about the chest x-ray.. US EMBASSY is just strict about it and slec can't do anything about your chest x-ray if you really are sick. and for sure they aren't faking your results.

i just wanna let you know that if you're just patient enough and if you're considerate then everything will come to its place. please stop thinking negatively and start being optimistic. and keep your faith. goodluck!

Your diatribe against St. Luke's extension is negated by your pathetic grammar and unnecessary and excessive use of exclamation points (and, yes... even one is too many).  I find it difficult to take you seriously since you seem to write at the 5th grade level.

You really lost me when you wrote:  "Aren't you guys know what is a customer service??"  To which I can only reply:  "Do with we are isn't it?"

But, don't worry...  Even though we know who "you" are, we won't hold it against you or your mother.  We promise.  So there.

    Sincerely,

    2nd floor Manager

I'm a k1 visa applicant and i wait now for the result of my culture that occur within 2 months. Don't worry coz k1 visa application has an extension as long as u already on the process of your medical papers. they will tell u that if the culture is negative then after your medical you have to set interview coz medical records will valid only for 3 months, so make sure that before the medical will expert u have to leave Philippine Island Ever!!!

Yes dear, I know what a "typo" is.  It is completely different from a grammatical error.  Typos occur even though a person may know how to spell the word.  They just happened to have hit the wrong key.  Grammatical mistakes occur because a person doesn't have command of the language.  You're correct that this is a blog site for people to record opinions; however, don't be a hypocrite by attacking the post written by "Thinkpositivealways!" who was only expressing his/her own opinion.  You didn't attack the message as much as you attacked the person for wanting to "record" their opinion.  Also, you have an obligation as an adult/professional to write clearly on  a forum such as this.  It's true that a lot of prior posts are heavy into "texting" abbreviations and bad grammar; however, they were all readable.  Yours, however, was INCOMPREHENSIBLE.  How again did you make it past the immigration interview?  And what was your mother's name again?  I'd just like to double-check my records (you know... because I'm dim-witted sometimes).

Dear Administrators of St. Luke's Extension Clinic, I humbly apologize for the grammatical errors of the previous blog that I have posted. It is my ill-temper about the service that you have given my mother and nephew that I do not have the grace of time to proof-read. If you are in my position, you would have understood what I was going through.  I think you too have your loved ones whom you dearly are concerned about and you don't want them to be treated like crap.  I do not understand the latter part of your post and it seems vague for my part. I was just trying to share my experience in the blog that I think needs to be given notice by your company because these are feedbacks about your service. Besides this, you would rather look at the flaws of the blog like grammar and punctation marks rather that understanding the point that I was trying to make. If this is how you respond to such blogs, then I do not insist on you handling my case seriously, just like the hundreds of comments and suggestions in this blog. I have already notified and copy-furnished the visa officer who handles complaints regarding your reply to my concern. Thank you very much for your prompt response. Vienna Janina Smithe
