Manny Pacquiao Wins! - by Unanimous Decision over Joshua Clottey

pacquiao-clottey the eventManny 'Pacman' Pacquiao has done it again. And perhaps for the first time, no one can make any excuses or reasons for his opponent's defeat as he beat a true and game welterweight in his prime in Joshua Clottey. Though very solid, with an iron chin and almost impenetrable 'turtle shell'-like defense, Manny remained smart and collected throughout the whole fight and was able to show the world that he is an all-around fighter--using slick head movements, superior boxing skills, slips to defend, and timely feints and counter punches.

Clottey himself said in the post-fight interview that this is the first time he has actually lost in his entire career (which I give him tremendous credit for admitting). He also praised Manny Pacquiao for his amazing speed and also admitted that he was cautious of getting caught by Manny's counter punching, which is why Clottey was reluctant to open up and punch from his shell-like defense.

Humble as always, Manny gave Clottey credit for being a very tough fighter. I was also particularly impressed by Manny's clear thinking during the post-fight interview. I think he answered all the questions wonderfully--staying humble, injecting his take and thoughts on the matters, and also actually answering the questions at hand. Mabuhay ka Manny at ang ating Pilipinas!
