Flag

I am not enchanted by money, the famous, or big names.  Neither filthy rich billionaires, powerful politicians, nor glamorous stars leave me in awe.  Nothing does.  If you know the meaning of life, if you know the secrets of the universe, if you know a "fountain of youth," if you know why life has to be taken away after it's been given, or what comes after; then I'd be interested.  Otherwise, you are no different than me, mortal.  And no matter what you may have, we're all just dust in the end.

It's the campaign season in the Philippines, and I'm not pleased by the situation.  The front-runner for the presidency (Bongbong Marcos) is riding on a family name -- a family that has stolen billions of dollars from the Philippines.  Isko Moreno is also a corrupt and phony individual going all out on deceptive propaganda.  We have unsuitable individuals with no political background like Raffy Tulfo and Robin Padilla running for senator.  And we have plunderers like Bong Revilla, Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada still in the game, who Duterte both had released from prison.  And of course, the Duterte clan is still vying for power to protect their dynasty.

Duterte turned out to be no different than the other corrupt presidents who preceded him.  He vowed to crack down on drugs, but he just put his own drug lords in power.  He allowed gambling to proliferate and eat away at society by further empowering leeching crooks like Atong Ang, as well as his other tumor-like cronies, like Dennis Uy.  He said he'd wave the Philippine flag in the West Philippine Sea and stand up to China, yet in reality he's actually in cahoots with China, allowing Chinese lords and criminals to infiltrate and take advantage of the Philippines.

One of the few to challenge Duterte is Manny Pacquiao.  And not only to Duterte, but Pacquiao is not afraid of calling out, cleaning up, and cutting ties with other corrupt individuals, even getting rid of long-time cancerous entity Chavit Singson from his camp (among other hangers-on).  Pacquiao is a person who comes from humble beginnings; he understands what being poor is all about.  And he has not forgotten where he came from.  He worked his way up with hard work, and he didn't ride on a family name or inherit ill-gotten wealth.  And I believe he truly loves the Philippines and its people.  People say he lacks in his educational background, yet front-runner Bongbong Marcos and senatorial top pick Raffy Tulfo are both college drop-outs.  Pacquiao has been giving back to the people (and not only to Filipinos) for many years, and he's been helping out others even before he became rich.  I'd give him a shot just on that basis alone, because all Filipinos have been voting for and seemingly continue to vote for are thieves!

Anyway, on another note, I just had my birthday a few days ago, and since it's been a while since I was last active on the blog, I wanted to post to say I'm still alive and that I'm far from done.

Good to hear from you again! Manny is a good man. It will be horrifying if the Marcoses win.

It's always a pleasure to know that you're still around. Belated happy birthday to you. I'm sharing your aspiration for a better Philippines come election time. Is it possible to make social media engagements at least once a month given your busy schedule? Anyway, I'm just glad to see. As they say in Tagalog, "walang kupas". God bless you and stay safe always.
